Steve’s Corvette in for a tune up and change tappet covers over to stop rockers hitting them, not been running right for ages, missed at light throttle and was pinging under load, all comes down to good tuning it’s not all about power!!
Corvette tune up
A new to you purchase can end in heartache for too many.
A tune for a classic vehicle may be the last thing required on the to do list. Not always on the want list but the must do.
Remember most classics such as a Corvette are not everyday drivers. Classics can be stored for years or only driven on the weekends an sit at car shows and events. The advantage of a clean well run engine, gearbox and working mechanical parts have not been worked. Power Curve Performance often see many well-meaning owners taking these beauties to a general mechanic who have not worked on a classic prior.
Parts and engines need the right due care and attention to keep them in their correct running state.
Keeping you Classic on the Road
Hints and tips to keeping your classic on the road and in top performance.
- Performance Servicing
- Good quality oils and fuel
- Drive it! Just starting your car in the shed while starting, running and driving is important. Starting the vehicle once every now and then will cause fouled plugs etc.
- Respect and understand the age of the vehicle. They don’t have power steering and parts will wear and deteriorate over time even if the vehicle is new to you.
- Dyno tuning to check the engine
