At Power Curve Automotive in Nambour, we know buying your first car is a big milestone and a big decision.
Our P Plater Pre Purchase Inspection is designed to support Sunshine Coast students and their families by providing a guided, hands on inspection experience before committing to a vehicle.
This isn’t just a check over, it’s an opportunity to learn, understand, and build confidence around a vehicle with the support of a technician.
What makes this different?
We don’t just inspect the car, we teach the student.
Our team works directly with the young driver, asking questions and guiding them through the process so they understand:
What to look for
What to listen for
What to be cautious of
And what makes a car a safe and smart choice
Parents are there for support — but the focus stays on building the student’s confidence and independence during our pre purchase inspection.
In the Workshop: Hands On Learning
Back in the workshop, we walk the student through the vehicle step by step:
Where to find and check engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, battery, suspension and brakes
What clean vs poorly maintained components look like
Signs of leaks, wear, rust, or previous damage
How to read a service logbook properly
What repairs may be needed and what they could mean long term
We explain everything in simple terms so both the student and guardian can clearly understand the condition of the vehicle.
Detailed Pre Purchase Inspection Report
Each vehicle receives a Power Curve Automotive Pre Purchase Inspection Report, covering:
Engine condition and performance
Suspension and braking systems
Tyres, steering, and underbody
Safety items and overall vehicle condition
We don’t just hand over a report — we walk through it with you, explaining what matters now, what can wait, and what to consider before purchasing.

Program Details
Open to Sunshine Coast high school students obtaining their P-plates
Bring up to three vehicles you’re considering purchasing (1 vehicle per booking)
Student ID required
Must attend with a parent or guardian
Approx. 2 hours per vehicle
Enclosed shoes required for workshop safety
